Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto lose in the north

Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto lost 25–24 to BM Sinfín in a match that remained closely contested until the end. Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto began with an unsettled team and fell three goals behind in the opening minutes, but gradually the port club’s defence switched on and turned the score around in the 20th minute with a 3–0 run. At that point, it seemed Fertiberia could bring the points home thanks to their defence, but the home coach called his first time-out to adjust his players, allowing BM Sinfín to get back into the match and make it very even, with the defences and goalkeepers prevailing to produce a tight 11–10 half-time score.

The Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto faces its moment of truth

Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto face BM Cangas in the opening round of the 2016-2017 Liga Asobal. The trials are over, as are the matches with no bearing on the standings; the taste of competition has arrived, and once again Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto do so in Spain’s top men’s handball division. The venue is a legendary Asobal court, O’Gatañal, and the opponents are a team that can no longer be called a surprise package, Cangas, because when they start year after year at full speed under the guidance of the magician Pillo, that is no surprise.

A Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto side still under construction narrowly lose to BM Benidorm in the Valencian Community Cup.

Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto have lost the Valencian Community Cup 24–23 to BM Benidorm. Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto, who had given such a poor impression in pre-season, improved their performance today, especially in defence, and managed in bursts to win back a match they had been losing, with Benidorm leading by four and five goals, mainly as a result of attacking turnovers, a constant feature of the match, where despite improved individual performances from the key players, there are still no collective patterns and automatisms to give fluency to the red-and-white attack.
