Start of the Sacyr ASOBAL League postponed; Fertiberia hope to begin on the 9th at the Ovni
The Royal Spanish Handball Federation announced this morning that matchdays 1 and 3 of the Sacyr ASOBAL League, scheduled for 2 and 5 September, have been postponed. Fertiberia Handball Puerto Sagunto have therefore postponed their away matches against Barcelona and Bidasoa Irún. The red-and-white club hope that the match corresponding to matchday 2, against Recoletas Atlético Valladolid at the Ovni on 9 September, can go ahead.
Fertiberia lose their first friendly of the season with many absentees
Fertiberia BM Puerto Sagunto lost their first friendly of the season, a match affected by the absences in the home side, who scrupulously complied with the COVID-19 safety measures. Nogués’ team went into the match without Toni Alegre, Óscar García, Pau Guitart, Lucas Aizen and Chen Pomerang, made their home debut at the Ovni, with Franzini in goal, Gonzalo Carou on his birthday, Miralles and Alex Gil. Friendly against Benidorm to be played in front of 150 members of the public
The Board of Directors of Balonmano Puerto Sagunto decided this morning, at a videoconference meeting, to hold the friendly match against BM Benidorm with a limited capacity for spectators. The match will provide experience for future games, and specifically 150 members will be able to attend. The board has decided that the members allowed to enter will be the earliest by length of membership, together with their family groups; specifically, members from F6, F9, F19 and M1 to M100 and their linked members will be able to attend.

Fertiberia begin pre-season ahead of a new ASOBAL season
Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto have begun preparing for the new season in the Sacyr ASOBAL League. The team, managed by Vicent Nogués, will play their tenth season in the top tier of Spanish handball. The squad began the day with talks and presentations from the coach. The club doctor, José Ignacio, then gave a talk on the measures and precautions to take against COVID-19. The entire squad underwent coronavirus tests and tested negative at the Institute of Health and Sport. At 19:00, club president Juanjo Bataller, Sagunto mayor Dario Moreno and Sports Councillor Javier Raro welcomed the players.

Balonmano Puerto Sagunto announce the signing of Argentina international player Lucas Aizen. The right-back will play in the Sacyr Asobal League for the first time in red and white and says that playing in Asobal is ‘a dream’ for him.
