The left winger joins the first team after completing a very good season with the red-and-white reserve team managed by David Núñez

Alejandro Alfonso joins the Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto first-team squad to compete next year in the Silver Honour Division. The right winger from Onda, who comes from the red-and-white reserve team, had already played for the red-and-white side at youth level, with which he became regional champion.

The red-and-white player expressed his gratitude to the club for the confidence it had placed in him: ‘First of all, I would like to say that I am very happy to be given this opportunity; it represents a step forward in my sporting career. I have spent many years at this club progressing through the ranks, and I believe I am ready to take that step into the Silver Honour Division’.

Alfonso is clear about his personal objective for this exciting season in the SHD: ‘This year I will try to give my best to help the team in every aspect and make the supporters identify with and feel enthusiastic about the team. I hope to adapt to the division and manager Toni Malla’s methods as soon as possible, in order to contribute as much as possible to the team and achieve the club’s objective of fighting for a new promotion to ASOBAL’.

Regarding the project being developed, Alejandro Alfonso highlights that: ‘The truth is that it is an ambitious project with many new faces and young people. It is motivating to share a dressing room with great players from across the country. Finding the balance between experience and the desire to compete will be the key’.
