From 6.30pm this Thursday 28 July players Chelu Cid, Nacho Moya, Carlos Prendes and Marko Dzokic, who will form part of our team’s ASOBAL sporting project for the 2011–2012 season, will be officially presented.
The event will take place at the Salones Mar Blau and Blue Terraza Canet (Salones Mar Blau / Bluestar Group), located in Canet d’En Berenguer, where the end-of-season dinner was recently held.
Chelu Cid, born in Ronda (Málaga) on 25/03/1980, will have his sixth destination in the ASOBAL league with our club, making him a true classic of the top tier of Spanish handball. Chelu has played for Ivesur Malaga, Octavio Pilotes Posada, Teucro, Almería, Arrate, Anaitasuna and Antequera, where they were able to enjoy his great quality and commitment. Standing 1.91 m tall and weighing almost 100 kg, Chelu usually plays at left back and is also an excellent defender in several positions, marking him out as a complete player who excels at both ends of the court. He was Spanish Junior Champion with Ivesur Malaga, European Youth Championship runner-up with Spain, and won a bronze medal at the European Junior Championship.
Nacho Moya, from Málaga and born on 3/11/1988, is 1.89 m tall and weighs 90 kg. He usually plays at centre back, although he can perform duties in any position in the backcourt. He has played for BM Málaga and Hexa Aldemar Málaga, in BM Antequera’s reserve team in the Second Division, and on loan at Profasan Mijas in the 1st National Division, before making his Asobal League debut with BM Antequera, where he established himself during the recently concluded season as a player with great potential in the top tier of Spanish handball. He has also been capped 47 times at youth level and 17 times at junior level.
Carlos Rodríguez Prendes, comes from CAI BM Aragón and is one of the highest-quality Spanish pivots. He has duly been a full international and, among other achievements, has won an Asobal League title while playing for Ademar León. A complete player, he is comfortable at both ends of the court, with a strong presence at the heart of the defence and a very notable contribution to attacking play.
Marko Dzokic, born on 27/1/1992 and the son of coach Goran Dzocik, is the latest addition to the squad. After playing for BM Realitas Guadalajara and coming through Renovalia Ciudad Real’s youth ranks, he moves to our town to bring youth and freshness to the left side.
