Carlos Martín de Bolaños Ruiz has signed a three-season contract with Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto, becoming the club’s fourth signing for the 2025–2026 season.
The player, who was in the youth ranks until this year, joins from Balonmano Mislata. At the Valencian club, he completed his development, progressing through every youth category. In addition to his role in the youth team, Carlos trained with the first team and played in Primera Nacional.
With Mislata, he became Spanish infant champion in 2021 and won a cadet bronze medal in 2023. Last May, he competed in the Spanish Youth Championship at the Pabellón de los Sueños in Alcobendas, scoring 12 goals in the four matches played.
Beyond Balonmano Mislata, the player named the best sportsperson of 2024 at the Torrent Sports Gala is a regular in both the RFEBM youth categories and the regional teams of the Valencian Community.
Among his greatest achievements are the Open European Championship he won with the Hispanos Promesas in Gothenburg, Sweden, in July 2023, and the gold medal at CESA 2024 with the Valencian youth team. In 2024, he was also called up by the RFEBM as part of the 2006–2007 Generation for the Technical Development Sessions at the Sierra Nevada CAR. This April, he was selected for the Hispanos Juveniles for two friendly matches against Poland in the city of Olecko.
“We have been following Carlos for many years. He is Valencian and has an extensive record in various RFEBM categories despite his young age. He is the kind of player we should seek out and retain in our project,” says coach Toni Malla, referring to how long they had been pursuing him.
“He is a fast wing who is clinical in attack. But he can also help us defensively, as he can play the advanced role in systems such as 5–1,” explains the Tortosa-born coach when describing Carlos’s profile.
As for the squad planning, the renewals of head coach Toni Malla, for two guaranteed seasons plus an optional one, and those of players Dani Martínez, Arnau Fernández, Matheus de Novais, Joaquín Barceló, Diego Olba and Antonio Capitán, all until 2027, have already been officially announced, as have those of academy players David García, Javier Olivares and Gonzalo Pérez, all three until 2026.
In terms of signings, those of Alex Pozzer and Juani Villarreal, both until 2027, and Oriol Teixidor, until 2026, are also official. The final two additions will be announced in the coming weeks through the club’s website and social media channels.
