Very excited to announce our first signing for Asobal....!

Alex, who made his Liga Asobal debut under Goran Dzokic in the red-and-white side's first season in Liga Asobal, returns after a six-year spell during which he alternated between Primera Nacional and División de Honor Plata with teams such as La Florida, Antequera in two spells, Villareal and fellow promoted side Nava de la Asunción, where he played in the Asobal promotion play-off final two seasons ago.

Coach Nogues comments on Alex Tello: “He is a home-grown player who has spent many years playing in Plata and we believe he has earned a place in the team. He is a player with an outside shot and a very strong one-on-one game. He can contribute a great deal to the Asobal project and, at the same time, we hope he will grow with us.”

Alex Tello is delighted to return to playing at home and at the Ovni: “First of all, I want to say that I am very happy and excited about this opportunity to return home. It has been six years since I left and, to be honest, sometimes you miss playing for the club where you have spent your whole life, where you were trained and learned your first steps in handball. Returning just as the team have been promoted back to Asobal makes me even more eager to come home, and above all to secure survival and remain in the top league. Playing for Puerto again will be a challenge, sharing the position with great players as well as facing the difficulty of Asobal. I will give my all to help the team in every respect and to make the fans feel the atmosphere of Liga Asobal again.”

This signing makes him the eleventh player confirmed by Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto and follows the renewals of Bruixola, Querin, Dija, Corzo, Dorado, Mirallave, Oscar Garcia, Angelon, Celorrio and Camacho.
