Alser BM Puerto Sagunto throws its full support behind the Closing Celebration of the Municipal Sports Schools for Beginners

Today, from 6 pm onwards, the closing celebration of the Municipal Sports Schools for Beginners took place, attended by the acting Councillor for Sport, José Luis Marti.

In addition to the large number of schoolchildren who actively took part in the various sporting disciplines throughout the school year, the highlight was the stand set up by Alser Puerto Sagunto, displaying trophies from recent seasons, with pride of place given to the Spanish Silver Honour Division champions' trophy from the 2009–2010 season.

This trophy, which paved the way to the club's current ASOBAL status, delighted the more than one thousand schoolchildren who visited the stand. The boys and girls tried to beat first-team goalkeepers Patxi Peg and Samuel Ibáñez, and took home a signed photograph of ASOBAL players Iago Muiña, Sasa Djukic and Rubén Ruiz, as well as the aforementioned Peg and Samuel.

At the handball stand, the club's new director of grassroots sport, Alberto Estornell, made his official debut at the event. He was supported by club president Juanjo Bataller and first-team coach Goran Dzockic, as well as various directors from the different areas of Alser Puerto Sagunto. A true symbol of Alser's renewed commitment to nurturing its young prospects.

This celebration of our boys' and girls' handball could not be without the heart of our club, the man responsible for maintaining harmony in the dressing room, ASOBAL team delegate Javi Teruel, who acted as the event's entertainer.
