BM Benidorm reached the final without complexes and trying not to show the foreseeable difference between a 1st National team and an ASOBAL team. They managed this for the first five minutes and in the second half of the match, especially through an inspired Sánchez from centre back, skilfully directing the team.
From the fifth minute, Alser, with a more settled 6:0 defence, made the visitors suffer and established a lead through an exceptional Sifre, ultimately the match’s top scorer with nine goals, scoring both on the counter-attack and from seven metres. In the first half, the biggest score difference came at the end, with an 18-7 lead for the red-and-whites, who showed their best form.
The second half became a formality, with the red-and-whites playing numerous periods with fewer players and fielding the less regular players.
