Fertiberia are 60 minutes away from returning to Asobal

Fertiberia BM Puerto Sagunto will play for promotion to Asobal tomorrow at the Ovni after beating MTT Seguros Zamora 35-27. The red-and-whites dominated the match from start to finish and are 60 minutes away from returning to the top tier of Spanish handball.

The match began with the home side in control, backed by an Ovni that was packed to the rafters. The red-and-whites quickly moved three and four goals ahead through goals from Querín and Dija. Zamora's strong defence was also penalised by the officials, and the red-and-whites took advantage to score from seven metres. The scoreboard showed the tenth minute when the side managed by Leoncio Álvarez came within one goal of drawing level. Don David Bruixola prevented that: from the first minute he stepped onto the Ovni court, he shut up shop and became Nogués's best defensive player. The home side did not let up and, with determination, restored their lead before going into half-time 16-11 ahead.

After the interval, the red-and-whites gave Zamora no chance, with Bruixola continuing to be superb. In attack, Montoya and Folqués left the opposition with no answers. In the final minutes, with the lead on the scoreboard clearly secure, Nogués gave playing time to the younger players, Celorrio, Óscar, Ángel López and Chueca in goal. They all performed well on the Ovni's blue court and maintained the lead until the end.
