Fertiberia win the Global Tourism Handball tournament after defeating Benidorm

The match began with Fertiberia quickly taking the lead, with the team firing in attack. Witkowski began to halt the red-and-white team's offensive play and Benidorm turned the score around, although not for long, as Dani Martednez also shut the door in goal and Toni Malla's side went into half-time three goals ahead (16-13).

After the interval, Benidorm went in search of victory and moved back in front, but the red-and-white team, with saves from Mario Rodredguez and goals from Novais, among others, restored the home side's advantage. In the end, either team could have won, but a goal from Capite1n (29') settled the match for Malla's side. After the match, Sagunto council members Javier Timf3n and Palmero, together with the club president, Juanjo Bataller, presented the tournament champions' trophy to the red-and-white captain, c1lvaro Del Valle, and the MVP award to goalkeeper Mario Rodredguez.

This was the red-and-white team's fourth pre-season match. They beat Portuguese side Pf3voa (25-23), also defeated Cuenca (ASOBAL) 26-30 at El Sargal and, so far, have only been beaten (33-25) by Balonmano Granollers (ASOBAL). On Saturday 24 August, from 8 pm at the Pabellf3n Poliesportiu Port de sagunt, they will face Agustinos (DHP) in the players' presentation match.
