Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto aim to beat Agustinos

Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto will play Fundación Agustinos Alicante on Saturday, 8 February, from 19:00. The match, corresponding to Matchday 19 of the Silver Honour Division, will take place at the Colegio San Agustín Pavilion, and the team faces it as a difficult contest given the first-leg defeat at home. It is one of the Comunitat derbies that Malla’s side have marked in red on their calendars, and they hope to finish it by taking two points.

Rojiblancos coach Toni Malla says that ‘the victory against Barça was very important to reinforce the work the lads are doing. Now we have to visit a very difficult court such as Agustinos’.

They will face an opponent whom, according to Malla, is ‘one of the few teams to have beaten us convincingly, and at home, so they are a very difficult opponent. They also raise their game at home and have beaten teams such as Burgos and Sin Fin, and we expect a real  final. The lads know it will be a very difficult match. If we want to win, we have to do things excellently. Defensively, they are a very combative team that may not demand many tactical systems, but does require a degree of intelligence in passing and off-ball movement. We have to be very alert to their attack because they are very dangerous and highly direct’.

‘We will have to demand a great deal of ourselves in defence, and in attack we will have to rely on tactical intelligence. It is a very difficult match that we have marked in red. We have had a very good week of preparation and I hope the lads give everything. It is true that Peña Marea Rojiblanca are coming to support us, and I have nothing but words of thanks for them’, Malla concludes.
