Alser BM Puerto Sagunto's second team have begun their pre-season work under the management of Rafa Martín Lorenzo for another year. This season he will be joined by player-coach Tiri Aguiar, who, in his final season as a player, has joined the club's coaching staff.
The 2nd National team begins without some of its historic faces, who have left handball at the club this year. Players such as Carlos Benito, Dani Cortes and Juanjo Bataller devoted many years of their lives to this sport in a selfless and altruistic manner. Thank you very much for your effort and commitment.
This year's squad is an equal mixture of experience and youth, creating an excellent unit. With its primary mission of being the final stage in the academy's player development, the reserve team welcomes players such as Alex Tello, Samuel Ibañez, Toni Alegre and Nacho Moya del Saz, who are doing pre-season with the ASOBAL team and, as we say, join a group of players of a high level for this category, including the aforementioned Tiri Aguiar, Rafa Marin Navio and Pablo Fernandez, among others. Also not to be forgotten is the oldest player in the squad alongside Tiri, Carlos Cepedal, who will take part for another year and is the player with the most active seasons among those developed through the Alser BM Puerto Sagunto academy.
For pre-season work, and surely to receive playing time throughout the year, juniors Carlos del Rincon and Victor Gamón join the squad, as do youth players Carles LLuna and Ivan Urbano.
