Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto answers the call from Virgen de Gracia School in Altura

This morning, Asobal team players Chispi, Valles, Pablo and Pocholo, accompanied by youth-team director Agustín Gimenez, visited Virgen de Gracia School in the Castellón town of Altura, 38 km from Puerto de Sagunto.

A lovely story lies behind this visit. Altura is a town with no handball tradition, but two teachers at the school are introducing their young pupils to handball during their physical education classes. One of them did something very simple, but unfortunately rather unusual: he sent the club an email telling us that they were working on handball and asking whether we could help. Agustín Gimenez, always willing to work for the youngest players, organised the visit, and the truth is that it was wonderful. Agustin says “We were given a very warm welcome. It was wonderful to see the tables in the gym with each player's name and the banner, as well as a dossier for every player. The children had prepared sheets with drawings and projects about handball and a series of questions for the players. These two teachers had put so much work into it; it was a real pleasure.”

If this visit helps a new handball hub open in the Altura area, it will be fantastic news. Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto is always available to help keep the flame burning. The Hispanos of the future are being developed now!

Look at the little signs the players have on the tables and the dossiers hanging on the board behind them.
