Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto defines its youth coaching structure

Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto’s sporting director, Toni Sarió has finalised the coaching structure that will oversee the club’s ten registered teams, in addition to its Asobal first team.

The two senior reserve teams will continue to be coached by Tiri Aguiar, the Second National team, and Jose Maria Sanchez Gabaldon the C reserve team in the First Regional division.

The two youth teams will have new coaches. The club’s own Toni Sarió, a graduate in Physical Activity Sciences specialising in Handball, will coach the current champions of the Valencian Community, our A youth team, while LLuis Garcia will be in charge of the B team.

At cadet level, Fertiberia’s extensive academy will compete with three teams this season. The A team, in the regional division, will be coached by a newcomer to the club with a high level of training and experience in the category, Victor Álvarez, the new red-and-white centre-back who, after coaching the cadet team at Asturian club Grupo Covadonga and while completing the National Coach qualification, will take charge of the club’s first cadet team. The other two teams will be coached by, for the B team, David Nuñez who, after his successful stint with the youth team, takes charge of a cadet group, and by a coach returning to the red-and-white set-up after many years in women’s handball, Xevi Pagès, someone who knows how to develop good players and whom Sarió has now brought into his coaching group.

The three new infant teams have three club names. The regional team, runners-up in the community, will be coached by a trainer whose development is progressing rapidly, Chovi Tomas who, having completed the first stage of the National Coach qualification, takes charge of the first infant team. Jandro Pérez with the B team and Manolo Gómez Gándara with the C team complete the group of first-team coaches appointed for the 2014–2015 season.

Toni Sario’s coaching team is completed by the Schools Coordination department, which will continue under Carlos Nuñez, following his outstanding previous season, and the sporting staff, featuring veteran national coaches Pedro Conde and Juan Carlos Núñez, while logistics and organisation will be handled by Luis Jordán and Jose Paul.

The coaching staff includes as many as three national coaches, two who have completed the first stage of the National Coach qualification and the rest holding a Level II Regional qualification—a further demonstration of the strength of the red-and-white academy and its coaches.
