Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto comfortably defeated BM Ciudad Encantada from Cuenca 26–38 in a match played this afternoon at El Sargal. Pachi Martí's men produced an excellent first half, in which defensive intensity combined with saves from the ever-reliable David Bruixola allowed them to pull clear on the scoreboard, with goals from the less regular players keen to show the manager what they can do. Ilija Sladic and Sasa Dukic, both in excellent attacking form, led the early exchanges. In fact, together with Nacho Plaza, who had recovered from his appendicitis operation, and captain Rubén Ruiz, who was in superb form, they became the red-and-white side's top scorers. Tarrasó was absent with a viral illness, while Diego Roque and Adrián Porras played an official match with the Segunda Nacional team. The match was effectively decided early in the first half, with a 2–8 spell between the 5th and 15th minutes putting the score at a commanding 4–12 in the opening quarter.
