Yesterday, at the end-of-season gala of the Valencian Community Handball Federation, Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto Veterans received the Valencian Community Master League champions’ trophy. The trophy, presented by FBMCV President Pedro Fuertes, was collected by a large representation of our team, captained by a legend of BM Puerto Sagunto, Manuel Gómez Gandara.

A trophy that brings to fruition the priceless work of a project that began as part of the celebrations of our 50th Anniversary in 2001 and which, fortunately, has continued over time eighteen years later to achieve the title of champions. A group that has managed to preserve the red-and-white DNA and which today brings together authentic legends of handball in Puerto, from Gandara, Gabaldon and Viñas to the younger “viejóvenes” such as Carlos Benito and the ever-present captain Rubén Ruiz Casanova, to name its most charismatic players without detracting from anyone else. 

A team that is a source of pride for the club, both on the court and from the bench, where many of its members pass on their knowledge to our youngsters, and always from the stands, where they celebrated this latest promotion to the Liga Asobal like no one else.
