Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto’s young academy players have been called up by the Valencian youth team to play in the match commemorating the 25th anniversary of the EHF CUP won by Avidesa Alzira in the 1993–94 season.
Javier Olivares, speaking to this Communications Department, says that he is “very happy and excited to be included in the call-up,as it is a reward for the work we are doing. And to keep working hard to be included in the next training camps and make the final team.”
Olivares has also worked with the two national-category teams during this pre-season: “I am very happy to have had this new experience and to know that the club is counting on us. On the other hand, they have been very intense weeks with lots of training, in which I have tried to make the most of every moment to improve and, above all, learn.”
For his part, first-year youth player David López Ortego is still enjoying the high of the intense summer he is experiencing despite being just sixteen.
“When I was called up to do pre-season with the first team, I could not believe it, and when I started training with them I realised that I still have a long way to go to reach that level.
