The “7th Fertiberia BM Puerto Sagunto Sports Photography Exhibition” opens this Friday
Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto will open its seventh photography exhibition on Friday 10 February at 19:30 at the Puerto Sagunto Civic Centre (Avenida Dr. Fleming s/n). This year it comprises a total of 60 photographs showing how 15 local authors who enjoy capturing moments view sport. This edition features plenty of handball, but also 15 other sports practised in the Valencian Community, including football, athletics, equestrianism, ballet, martial arts, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, kitesurfing, windsurfing, cycling, motorcycling, rallying, trail running and calisthenics. The exhibition can be visited until 24 February during the Civic Centre's visiting hours. It is organised by the red-and-white club under the direction of Pepa Conesa, with the collaboration of Sagunto Town Council, the Arse Photographic Group and professional photographer Juan Higueras. The authors taking part in this edition are, in addition to the aforementioned Pepa Conesa and Juan Higueras, Diandra Rico, Antonio Hernández, Begoña Cosín, Enrique Yáñez, Marta Escribano, Jorge Gallart, Antonio Martínez, Enrique Herrero, Victoriano Parral, Juan María Rodríguez, Salvador Moragón “Ciace”, Manel Channel and David Piqueras. Through this exhibition, the authors want to help everyone who visits it see moments that sometimes escape our eyes because they happen in fractions of a second: gestures, jumps and frozen details whose speed does not allow us to admire them carefully. It also aims to show in images the effort, work and determination of the city's and Valencian Community's great athletes. Fertiberia's Vice-President of Communications, Carlos Argente, says “this is the seventh edition of this exhibition, which demonstrates our commitment to the art of photography. At the club, we consider sport to be another cultural expression, and that anything which connects us with other cultural disciplines is a responsibility we have as a club representing the city”. The red-and-white executive thanked “all the authors for their participation, and especially Pepa Conesa for stepping forward in response to the personal problems of the exhibition's previous curator, Juan Guerrero, because without her this seventh edition would not have seen the light of day”. Argente concluded by inviting the whole city to enjoy the combination of sport and photography: “these are works that bring the athlete very close to the viewer; their effort, skill, commitment and small details that sometimes escape us are brought to light through the eyes of these fifteen authors exhibiting in this worthwhile exhibition.”
