The Municipal Handball School, managed by the city’s two most representative clubs, Mar Sagunt and ALSER BM. Puerto Sagunto, organised a morning event called “HANDBALL IS BACK”.
The Internúcleos Pavilion, home of the men’s team, which will return to the Asobal League in the 2011–12 season, hosted the event, attended by around fifty participants who, in the school year beginning on 8 September, will be in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 of primary school.
The young players formed teams of four, regardless of age or sex; the only requirements were to play handball and enjoy the day with their teammates.
As the event was drawing to a close, Mar Sagunt players Bea Escribano, Eli Chávez and Mª José Gutiérrez, together with Chelu Cid, Iago Muiña, Alfredo Sorrentino, Carlos Prendes, Nacho Moya, Bojan Stefanovic, Nacho Moya del Saz and local player Rubén Ruiz, all from ALSER BM. Puerto Sagunto, came along to spend some time with the youngest participants. They signed autographs, posed for photos and some even took charge of a team named after them.
