Mirallave and Corzo renew for Fertiberia's return to Asobal

Fertiberia BM Puerto Sagunto renews Nacho Mirallave and Guillermo Corzo for the 2019-2020 season, which marks the red-and-white club's return to the top tier of Spanish handball. The back and the winger have had a great season wearing the red-and-white shirt and have earned another year at the club from Puerto de Sagunto. These two renewals join that of Leo Querin, who is under contract, and the automatic renewal of Dija Cruz upon the team's promotion to Asobal on 9 June.

For Nacho Mirallave, this will be a special season. After achieving several promotions from División de Honor Plata to Asobal, Mirallave has yet to make his debut in the top tier of Spanish handball. This will be his moment. The Alicante player has earned it, and at the club we are delighted that his Asobal debut will be in the red-and-white shirt.

Nogués points out that "he is a winger, but he has also adapted very well to the back position. He is a good penalty taker, has good vision of the game and defends at centre-back and at number two."

Mirallave, for his part, is approaching this new stage at the red-and-white club with great enthusiasm “I am taking on this new challenge with even greater desire and the same enthusiasm with which I arrived last year. I believe we have returned to stay.”

Guillermo Corzo will once again be key to the red-and-white attack in Asobal. Three seasons ago he was already a key player in the team and left as the league's top scorer. Will he repeat the feat this new season? For now, he renews with the Puerto de Sagunto first team and will wear the red-and-white shirt again under Vicent Nogués.

Regarding the Cuban, who has been called up by his national team, red-and-white coach Vicent Nogués highlights that: “He is a very experienced player who can play anywhere in the back line. He has great potential and can be a very important player in the Asobal project.”

On the other hand, Iván Montoya and Josep Folqués will not be continuing, having decided to pursue their promising professional careers at other Asobal clubs. Fertiberia Balonmano Puerto Sagunto wishes them the very best of luck and thanks them for the great season they have had, earning a place in the club's history by returning it to Asobal.
