Chelu Cid, Nacho Moya, Carlos Prendes and Marko Dzokic presented

This afternoon, players Chelu Cid, Nacho Moya, Carlos Prendes and Marko Dzokic were officially presented. They will form part of our first team’s ASOBAL sporting project for the 2011–2012 season. We attach a photograph.   The event took place at the Blue Terraza Canet in Canet d´En Berenguer, a current Club partner. First to speak was president Juanjo Bataller, who thanked Luis Roche (Grupo Salones Mar Blau / Bluestar) for making his magnificent facilities available for this presentation. He presented, in the following order: Carlos Prendes, Chelu Cid, Nacho Moya and Marko Dzokic.   Coach Goran Dzokic then commented: “Carlos Prendes and Chelu Cid are two veterans who will contribute in attack and defence. Nacho and Marko are young, show great promise and give us more options and variations.” He also stressed that: “this season all the signings attack and defend, so we will not have to make so many attacking and defensive substitutions.” Finally, he added: “I am very pleased with the squad we have.”   The Councillor for Sport of the Honourable Sagunto Town Council, Sergio Muniesa, welcomed them to the city, explaining: “we want you to feel at home.” He also highlighted that: “if there is one thing that defines this team, it is that they have always formed a close-knit unit, bringing together experience and youth.”   Next it was the players’ turn.   Chelu Cid, speaking first, highlighted “that he had seen the group with enthusiasm”. He commented that: “it is very nice to come and play here, at a reliable club that does things well and which many people would like to emulate.”   Carlos Prendes commented: “the first objective is survival and achieving safety as soon as possible so that we can look upwards in the table.”   Nacho Moya explained: “enthusiasm and desire must be our strengths to keep the team in ASOBAL.”   Marko Dzokic stated: “playing at the Ovni is very special; I am looking forward to doing it.”   Finally, each of the four players was presented with a copy of the Club’s 50th-anniversary book, signed by its author, Rafa García Marín, a member of the Board.
