Jose Maria Sanchez Gabaldon steps down from his duties at his own request and Toni Malla will be the new Sporting Director of the Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto Academy.

After five years in the role, Gabaldon has decided to step aside, explaining that "The club needs to professionalise the role of Sporting Director; it needs someone capable of managing sporting matters and someone who can establish and correct the club's playing philosophy, working on court with the coaches.
I do not have enough time in my day-to-day life to dedicate to the role of Sporting Director of Club Balonmano Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto the time it requires, and I believe that under no circumstances should I be an obstacle to the natural and necessary development of the Club's academy."

The board, chaired by Juanjo Bataller, has appointed Toni Malla as his successor for the 2022–23 season. He already has extensive experience in the role, at clubs such as Oviedo and, most recently, Onda, where his academy has taken a significant qualitative leap.

The development of our grassroots structure is a reality, and it has also been rewarded with several academy players making the first team. All of this took place during a pandemic.
